About Patrick

Adept and avid in performing, educating, and arranging, Patrick Mooney is a fourth-year undergraduate student at the University of Northern Iowa studying instrumental music education and horn performance with Assistant Professor of Instruction in Horn, Dr. Maddy Tarantelli.

While at UNI, Patrick has performed with numerous ensembles, notably including the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra, UNI Wind Ensemble, Northern Iowa Symphony Orchestra, Calzone Wind Quintet, Biscotti Brass Quintet, UNI Horn Choir, and CommUNI Horn Choir.

Patrick’s goals include continuing education after the completion of his undergraduate degree, continuing to encourage and educate musicians of all ages and backgrounds in the areas of horn performance and music theory, and diversifying the horn and chamber repertoire through the arrangement of works for horn & piano, horn choir, and numerous other chamber ensembles.

Off the horn, Patrick enjoys streaming TV shows and movies, such as “Parks & Recreation”, “Palm Royale”, “Saturday Night Live”, and “Blues Brothers”. He also enjoys reading fiction and fantasy novels and spending quality time with friends and family.
